The worker tour is off to quite a start! Sophorn arrived in the US nearly two weeks ago, and she’s already lit up the whole Northeast to end #NikeSweatshops.

In Washington D.C., she led a rally on International Women’s Day of a broad coalition of working women, who marched on the US Department of Labor.  Next, she headed to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in New York City to speak on a variety of panels about her experiences as a former garment worker, and her in-depth knowledge of the Nike factories in Cambodia.

The tour then carried on to speak at events in Philadelphia, PA and Boston, MA.

Back in New York at Cornell University, students and Sophorn marched into the President’s office and successfully achieved a meeting with key administrators. The road then continued out to State College, PA, where students and athletes of this Big Ten school enjoyed a two hour talk and Q&A with Sophorn.
